Electricity frequency varies by region: 50 Hz in eastern Japan (including Tokyo) and 60 Hz in western Japan (including Hiroshima).
Convertible electrical appliances—such as PCs, hair dryers, and shavers—are recommended. If that is not the case, a step-down transformer will be required to adjust the voltage.
Please note that column-shaped plugs and three-pin plugs cannot be used in Japan.
Japan uses two flat parallel pins (Type A), so participants should obtain an appropriate plug adapter before arriving in Japan.
